Even if you're not using my DMV service,
I still care about your trip to the DMV.
I want it to go as smoothly as it can for you.
I have listed here many tips that
hopefully will improve your trip.
If you can think of any tips to add, email me! I'd love to hear from you.

TIP #1  - Wake up early and head out.  But getting there too early really doesn't help you. Standing in line outside for 4 hours so you don't have to stand in line inside for 3 hours - doesn't make sense. So plan wisely.

TIP #2  - When not using a service, make sure your paperwork and documents are in order. Be careful where you have signed and where you put information. Many times people are sent away from the DMV just for simply signing in the wrong area.

TIP #3  - For those of you having your beautiful face put on film select an appropriate color to wear keeping the sky-blue background of the photo in mind.

TIP #4  - Take along some reading material or something to occupy all that time. A cell phone, call your Mom, she misses you. Knitting, cross stitch, or your favorite crossword book. Maybe a newspaper, or earphones with relaxing music! Just don't miss your number. You miss it, you start over! Yuck!

TIP #5 -  Take along spare change for the snack bar or vending machines. You're going to get hungry.

TIP #6  - If you are going to have your photo taken take your make-up with you and do it there. It will give you something to do while you wait those long hours.

TIP #7  - Always bring more I.D. than you'll think you'll need. The DMV has always been famous for wanting you to prove who you are beyond belief.

TIP #8  -  Leave kids with a sitter if at all possible. For your sake, your kids sake and for the rest of us. Kids get tired and cranky, they don't understand why they are there and can't run around and play and then they start to cry. Keep in mind, the DMV is full of people who are sick and are there because they have to be due to their situation. You wouldn't want your little one to catch the flu when it could have been avoided by staying with Auntie Janet.

TIP #9  - Check the office hours and available services for the location you wish to visit before you go. To better serve your busy schedule, some offices are open Saturday. Check our list. Depending on your needs, you may require a full service station. Craig and Donavon is not a full service station and is not open on Saturday.

TIP #10  - Bring all required documentation and fees needed to conduct your transaction. Specific documentation is required for all original, renewal and duplicate (replacement) driver license, driver permit and ID card transactions.

TIP #11  -  There is no ATM  machine in the DMV offices, so come prepared to pay. You wouldn't believe how many people go with no money at all and say, "What, I have to pay?"

TIP #12  - DMV offices accept cash, checks, money orders, and credit cards for payment of fees. Checks and money orders must be payable to DMV for the exact amount. You will not be able to use a check that is made for over the amount, due to the fact the DMV cannot issue change back for an over the amount check.

TIP #13  - Research! Look for your answers before hand on the net. It could help make your trip more productive.

TIP #14  - While standing in line, have all your documents out and ready. The line moves much quicker when you're not waiting for someone to dig everything out of a jam packed purse.

TIP #15  - Going on your lunch break really isn't recommend. The likely hood that you get back to work in time is slim to none.

TIP #16  - Don't wait for the last minute!  People need to get on airplanes or are in a must have situation and they wait for the last minute and then are in a dire situation because the DMV has sent them away.

TIP #17 - Day after a holiday - busy, busy, busy! Did I say busy?

TIP #18  - Use a service! Then you don't have to go at all! Let Anita get it right for you!

TIP #19  - Your library card, your Albertsons card, your health card, and your  gym membership card, are not proper forms of I.D. to prove your name and date of birth.

TIP #20  - Patience, Patience, Patience!!!!!!!!!!
