About the Role:

As the Director of Early Head Start at CentroNía, you will oversee our Early Head Start (EHS) program, collaborating closely with senior program staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and compliance with federal and state regulations. Your leadership will directly influence the success of our early childhood education programs, touching the lives of countless children and families within the DMV community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Early Head Start program, ensuring strategic alignment with CentroNía’s mission.
  • Supervise EHS personnel, overseeing performance evaluations and staff development.
  • Foster partnerships with educational, social service, and community agencies, enriching the program’s integration into the local community.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS Performance Standards, liaising with the EHS Policy Council and CentroNía Board of Directors.

Who You Are:

The ideal candidate will bring a dynamic blend of enthusiasm, leadership, and experience to this vital role, along with:

  • Experience and Education: A Master’s degree (preferred) or BA/BS in Early Childhood Development, Business Administration, Management, or a related field, with a minimum of five years of experience in an Infant/Toddler program setting.
  • Community-Driven: A deep understanding of the DMV area’s unique cultural and community landscape, leveraging this knowledge to enhance program effectiveness and engagement.
  • Bilingual Skills: Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred, mirroring the rich linguistic diversity of the DMV area.
  • Leadership Competencies: I have demonstrated an ability to build resilient and optimistic team environments, effectively manage conflicts, and guide teams through change.
  • Travel Requirements: You must have an automobile, a valid driver’s license, and required insurance coverage for local and some out-of-area travel.
